The Master's Chorale was formed September 2003. The call went out for musicians of the North County to participate in a Christian community choir. Our first rehearsal brought 32 vocalists and several instrumentalists. In faith we stepped forward! TMC has a very distinctive sound and style, one much different from the traditional -and mostly classical- community master chorale. We are also much more contemporary than the typical church choir. Our sound is fresh, contemporary, edgy and leans towards the black-gospel. But, we also sing classical numbers in English and Latin, inspiring traditional church anthems, acapella, and with full orchestra accompaniment. In short, TMC is very eclectic. The musical growth TMC has experienced these past 6 years has been nothing less than miraculous. We have recorded several CD's, performed with Crimson Bridge, headlined with Mary James, performed at the Mid-State Fair in 2004 and 2006, and are invited to perform at several local venues. We took a trip to Texas for an Easter Concert Tour in 2006. And, in 2007, a concert tour of Argentina. As an ongoing contribution to the Central Coast, TMC organizes and produces the Atascadero Music Festival. This daylong event features local bands and soloists performing a variety of music. Featured groups have included The Martin Paris Band (Templeton, CA), Mary James and her band (San Diego, CA), Jericho Road (Atascadero, CA), Athena (Paso Robles, CA), The Israelites (Los Angeles, CA) to name a few. The 2006 Atascadero MusicFest debut the group Road to Emmeus, a new local band providing back-up music for The Master's Chorale. A special thanks goes to Berean Bible Fellowship of Atascadero for their grace and generosity in allowing TMC use of their church for rehearsal on a weekly basis. Their support has been pivotal in making the TMC ministry a success. For now, The Master's Chorale continues to expand and develop. We are just beginning our journey and look forward to many years of continued service to our community.
